GLACIER

In 2019, I traveled to the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, Alaska. Perched on the edge of the Juneau Ice Field in the Tongass National Forest, this magnificent natural creation offers more beauty than one can describe. My husband and I helicoptered onto the glacier valley and ice-climbed to higher peaks for hours. With my camera, I explored each bit of the terrain, capturing abstracts created by nature.

The Glacier series studies the transforming wilderness of glaciers. As climate change cycles world weather into warmth, our glaciers continue to reshape every day, calving chunks of ice into nearby waters to form floating icebergs. My goal for this series is to translate the immense and breathtaking beauty of glacial ice and rock into paintings that showcase the complex and dimensional abstracts nature has created.
